Joplin Extreme Home Makeover

Yesterday, my mom, husband, and I, were some of those crazy people who woke up at the crack of dawn to witness the reveal of the first house done by the TV show Extreme Home Makeover. The show built seven houses in seven days for seven families whose homes were destroyed by the F5 tornado that roared through Joplin on May 22 five months ago. It was so rewarding to experience such a historical event and to join a crowd of people who were just as inspired and encouraged as we were. So many peoples lives and homes were destroyed because of the tornado and it is nice to know that so many people from all over care!

Above, are a couple of pictures showing some of the remaining damage of the tornado... and to think this is 5 months after it hit.

This picture was taken on my iphone so it is a little fuzzy but I just loved the energy of it! This was right after they revealed the first house!

These were the best pictures I could get of Ty and the other designers since I was so short in such a big, tall crowd! Ty is basically looking at the camera in the last one!
