Don't let this cake fool you... it might look good but it was absolutely the nastiest thing I have ever baked. I am not playing! It was downright horrible! I got the recepie from Southern Living and was so excited to make a cake and the icing from scratch- I followed the recepie to a "T" (at least I think.) The moment had finally arrived and it was time to taste my baked-from-scratch cake and to my surprise it was chalky and bitter. The outside was burnt and the inside was moist... for now I am blaming it on my old dingy oven:(

Maybe I will try this recepie again someday!
